The Young Researchers’
Manufacturing Network

Conference

The YMAN Conference is an annual event held in a hybrid format to
facilitate high-level academic exchange.

It is open to international scholars with a doctoral degree, focusing

on cutting-edge directions in future machine tools
and manufacturing technologies. The conference aims to promote
international research cooperation and cultivate young talent, with
an emphasis on advanced technologies, key scientific issues, and
engineering applications. To this end, it features both a Young, Senior, and Leading Researchers Committee, which
works together to foster collaboration across generations.

Presided over by its chair, Professor Luis Norberto
López de Lacalle, the conference brings together scholars from
China, Spain, France, Germany, India, Türkiye, Brazil, Colombia,
Argentina, and beyond, forming a vibrant international
network for the next generation of manufacturing researchers.

YMAN serves as an international research network for state-of-the-art manufacturing knowledge exchange and supports the growth of young researchers in manufacturing

University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU

Dear Colleagues

We are delighted to invite you to join the Young Researchers’ Network for Manufacturing (YMAN).

This initiative is a brilliant idea: creating a network dedicated to fostering the growth and interaction of young talent. YMAN will bring together talented young researchers and engineers from around the world who share a strong interest in the future of manufacturing and are committed to contributing to this field in the long term. At the same time, the network will engage a group of influential leading researchers, who will join these young professionals in discussing the future direction of next-generation manufacturing technologies.

The upcoming YMAN 2026 inaugural events will serve as an exciting forum for researchers, engineers, and industrial professionals to exchange ideas on next-generation machine tools and manufacturing technologies. Topics will span: Intelligent Machine Tools, AI in Machining, Digital Manufacturing, Hybrid Manufacturing, Advanced Metrology, New Materials Processing, and Robots in Production.

We look forward to your participation and to the valuable insights you will bring to this vibrant network.

Sincerely,

MachiningPro: Process Monitoring and Control System, Xi’an Jiaotong University

Why do this ?

The Youth is our Future

To create an international virtual platform/network for young researchers in the machine tool and manufacturing technologies to communicate, discuss, and collaborate, overcoming the limitations of many uncontrollable factors such as visas, funding, and time.

To foster collaboration among young researchers from different countries and continents.

To promote the mentoring activities of leading researchers to senior and young researchers.

Always thinking that young researchers work under inspiration, motivation, and wishful thinking.

Meet new friends, absorb new knowledge, and enhance
academic taste and pursuit.

Opportunities to showcase research achievements
of young researchers.

Opportunities to receive comments and suggestions
from leading experts.

Get the opportunity to publish a paper in a special issue.

Opportunities to establish cooperative relationships
with other members.

Jointly apply for international research projects and
jointly tackle academic challenges.
